  7. 7. Education and Culture The Instrument of Pre-Accession 7 • Joint EC-CoE integrated rehabilitation project plan in SEE (2003-2010): 220 monuments and sites. Indicator: 80% received funds • The Ljubljana Process and funding from IPA of projects in countries from the region: Sarajevo and Novi Grad Town Halls 7.5M

Culture Western-Balkans: an example of how we adapt and respond to strategic areas • Increased support through the Creative Europe Western Balkans window by an investment from the IPA Programme • Increase the participation of local organisations through the wirndow • Help build capacity and provide for an increased participation in the future • Fighting illicit trafficking of cultural goods in the Western Balkans

The EU Development cooperation: Egypt • Support Egyptian Cultural operators on the ground and promote access to culture and social inclusion through culture • Specific actions on cultural heritage • City of the Dead interventions 2018-2020 (1M) • Transformation of the Egyptian Museum (3M) • Regional programmes: Euromed programmes, MedCulture and the Anna Lindh Foundation 9

The FPI: the Cultural Diplomacy platform • Interface for the EC, the EEAS and the EU Delegations to engage with audiences and stakeholders in the field of culture • Funded by the FPI and run by a consortium of European cultural organisations • Global geographical coverage • Support the further development of cultural relations policies, assist in policy dialogues and advise on cultural themes • Strengthen communities/networks of cultural practitioners 10

European Houses of Culture An EU preparatory action No The term ‘Houses’ is to be understood symbolically: The project tests collaboration models and practices in a broader sense that create spaces, whether physical or digital, permanent or temporary, for cultural exchange, co-creation and people-to- people contacts.
