Five Activites to learn basic PowerPoint <ul><li>Make an Outline </li></ul><ul><li>Select design template, background, layout, and text or picture style </li></ul><ul><li>Insert textbox, picture or clipart, autoshapes, and wordart. </li></ul><ul><li>Draw using basic shapes, autoshapes, group the parts, and then rotate it. </li></ul><ul><li>Slide shows have a certain order, transitions and custom animations. </li></ul>

Outlining <ul><li>Enter key adds slide or detail </li></ul><ul><li>Remember to change anything, it must be selected. </li></ul><ul><li>Tab, green right arrow on left - demotes. </li></ul><ul><li>Arrow keys in center, move blinking bar cursor. </li></ul><ul><li>Shift + tab, green left arrow on left - promotes </li></ul><ul><li>Backspace deletes to the left </li></ul><ul><li>Grade </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Tests </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Work </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Class </li></ul></ul></ul>EXAMPLE

Select <ul><li>Template </li></ul><ul><ul><li>From menu bar, click format, apply design, select one, click on apply button top right. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Background </li></ul><ul><ul><li>From menu bar, click format, background, check box in bottom left, omit. Next click on down triangle pick, and apply. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Layout </li></ul><ul><ul><li>From menu bar, click format, slide layout, pick one hit apply. </li></ul></ul>
  5. 5. 10/19/10 Insert <ul><li>Textbox </li></ul><ul><ul><li>From menu bar, click insert, textbox, type words. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Or in drawing tool bar, click on box with big A and lines, type words. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Pictures or Clipart </li></ul><ul><ul><li>From Menu bar, click insert, Picture, then either clipart or from file. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>WordArt </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on slanted blue A at bottom of drawing tool bar </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Autoshapes </li></ul><ul><ul><li>From drawing tool bar, click on sideways word autoformat, select item, move to slide and then click, hold drag to make selected shape. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Slides </li></ul><ul><ul><li>from menu bar, click on insert, new slide, then you pick a layout. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>From common tasks tool bar, click on New slide, then pick a layout. </li></ul></ul>This textbox was added from The Drawing Toolbar WordArt is neat.

Draw <ul><li>Basic Shapes </li></ul><ul><ul><li>From drawing tool bar, rectangle, oval, line, freeform, and ones in AutoShapes. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Group </li></ul><ul><ul><li>click above and to the left of items, hold and drag past bottom right, so dotted lines are around multiple objects, go to word Draw in tool bar, click on it and pick group. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Rotate grouped shapes </li></ul><ul><ul><li>First select object to rotate, below select object arrow, is free rotate. After you click it, the eight white squares turn into four circles, which you click, hold, and drag to rotate the object. </li></ul></ul>Alex Bodak

Slide Show <ul><li>Order </li></ul><ul><ul><li>To change the order, sequence of the slides, click on and hold slide, then drag it before or after a slide and let go. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Transitions </li></ul><ul><ul><li>From slide sorter view, pick a transition from the drop down rectangle </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>From the menu bar, pick Slide Show, and Transition and select the effect you want. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Animation </li></ul><ul><ul><li>First you must select an object, then from the menu bar, Slide Show pick custom animations, and select the effect, at once, by word or letter. </li></ul></ul>
  8. 8. Activities - Table <ul><li>Use the tab key to move between cells. </li></ul><ul><li>After selecting table from menu bar, click on Table Autoformat, double click on choice. </li></ul>
