1st annual literary cake decorating contest event –

  1. 1. 1st Annual Literary Cake Decorating Contest Event – April 15, 2011• In Honor of National Library Week, we thought it would be fun to have a “Book-themed” cake decorating contest. All you need to do is bake a cake and decorate it to represent a scene or character from a favorite book, be it a beloved children’s book or your favorite adult book.• We had Five cakes entered into the contest• We are allowing anyone coming through the library to judge the cakes, and they would put a token in the box of the cake they find to be the best. Judging ran from 9:30am-12:30pm.• We had about 230 people participate in the voting/judging of the cakes.• Winners are listed below• At 1pm we announced the winners and began cutting into these beautiful creations and shared them with anyone that came into the café. We had no cake left by the end of the day.• It was a very successful event, and I think all who participated had a good time.• Please consider participating next year for our 2nd Annual Literary Cake Decorating Contest. We’re hoping to get even more Literary Cakes to choose from!
