1. Couples & Knowing ey Are e One
One
Introduction
Ok, so you’re probably excited to read this one in hopes that we have the answer for you. Plainly speaking,
here’s the equation: Seeking God + Waiting Patiently = Finding the Right One (or them nding you). And
guess what? e equation, when done right, only needs to work one time. I cannot add anything else to it.
Spiritual Background
esiastes 9:10
Deuteronomy 24:5
If a man has recently married, he must not be sent to war or have any other duty laid on him. For one year he
is to be free to stay at home and bring happiness to the wife he has married.
1 Corinthians 7:32, 33
I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord’s a airs--how he can
please the Lord. But a married man is concerned about the a airs of this world--how he can please his wife.
2 Corinthians 6:14
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or
what fellowship can light have with darkness?
1 Timothy 5:14
So I counsel younger widows to marry, to have children, to manage their homes and to give the enemy no op-
portunity for slander.
Challenge
What does being the “one” mean? Who do you both know that has found “the one”? It’s like a game of Mr.
Potato head. In fact, that’s what you will do. You will come up with 5 couples made from your description. You
will describe how they look, how they met, all up to their wedding day. You tell their story. Don’t forget to give
them a name as well.
