  3. 3. Chipmunk <ul><li>The Chipmunk’s name means storer or rodent. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Anatomy/Appearance <ul><li>Chipmunks are in the squirrel family. </li></ul><ul><li>They have big cheeks and bushy tails. </li></ul><ul><li>Chipmunks can be grey to reddish brown. </li></ul><ul><li>With dark and light strips on there faces and sides. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Locomotion/Tracks/Scat <ul><li>The chipmunk is a fast animal so it can get away from big animals, like dogs, cats, and other big animals. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Diet <ul><li>Chipmunks are omnivores so they live off insects and berries, some nuts, seeds, and some grains. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Habitat and Range <ul><li>Chipmunks live in a lot of places in North America. </li></ul><ul><li>Chipmunks live in the forest, bushes, deserts, and some trees. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Adaptations <ul><li>The chipmunk can climb trees to get its main food sourse. </li></ul><ul><li>Their nails help them climb the trees so they can hide from preditors. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Life Cycle/Reproduction <ul><li>The chipmunk can live up to 3 years if they have not become food for another animal. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Behavior <ul><li>The chipmunk hibernates. </li></ul><ul><li>Chipmunks can fit a lot of food in their cheeks like nuts, seeds, grains, and other foods. </li></ul>
  11. 11. Defense/Offense <ul><li>Defense </li></ul><ul><li>The chipmunk defenses it self when it goes up trees. </li></ul><ul><li>Offense </li></ul><ul><li>Chipmunks do not eat other animals. </li></ul>

  13. 13. Species Survival Status <ul><li>My animal is not extinct because nobody hunts chipmunks and there are still many nuts in this world. </li></ul>
