3. The practice of facilitating and enhancing
learning through technologic resources. It
can supplement curriculum and even act as
stand alone courses. Ed. Technology is
critical to public school’s success.

5. Kindergarten technology
•Overhead projectors were
still in full swing in the 90’s
• Cursive was required to
be taught in the State of
Illinois
•Standarized testing had
already begun
6. High school technology
•Texas Instruments came out with
this in 1997 the TI-86
•With its graphing abilities and
approximation functions it gave
students an edge on math tests
•It also opened up a new world of
non-educational calculator games
that wasted precious instructional
time
7. College technology
At University of Colorado
at Boulder 150+ student
lecture course was not
uncommon
To combat the often
unengaged audience
clickers were used to
increase student
accountability and
participation
8. A vivid technology
learning experience
Google Earth
Provides an interactive exploration of earth
that the user can appreciate
Embedded topography enhances the
experience
9. A technology I want to use in my
classroom
Clickers: Provides instant feedback to student
and teacher about understanding content
Ipads: saves paper, interactive for students, and
is easier to control pacing
10. My vision of the classroom
of the future
An Ipad for every
student and a math
curriculum program
that enables
collaboration
between students
and real time
feedback
11. A challenge for teaching
Budget Restrictions
People resistance to
change and prefer
old pencil, paper
methods
Ineffective use of
technology (lack of
training for teachers)
12. Words of wisdom
“If the only tool you
have is a hammer,
you tend to see every
problem as a nail.”
~Abram Maslow
