Nivel 1
Meta-cognición: Análisis de necesidades
2. Nivel 1
mejora.
Que puedas evaluar tus progresos y fijarte nuevas
metas.
3. Reflexión:
Alguna vez te has preguntado...
8. Actividad personal:
Análisis de necesidades
Contesta el siguiente cuestionario
1.Cuéntame de tu experiencia con el inglés. ¿Cuánto tiempo has estudiado y dónde?
escuchar, leer, escribir, aprender vocabulario, y practicar gramática.

3. Trabajar, reflexionar, decidir
Ya planeaste tu trabajo en el laboratorio. Es
hora de empezar a trabajar.
Todas las decisiones que tomes durante este
primer nivel te ayudaran a hacer mejor uso de
los recursos disponibles en el laboratorio.
No desperdicies la oportunidad de tomar el
control de tu propio proceso de aprendizaje,
después de todo, tus maestros no estarán
siempre a tu lado para ayudarte a resolver todas
tus dudas, problemas, etc.
Editor's Notes
Go through the characteristics making sure they understand each and every one of them, keep it simple, if necessary just translate the words into Spanish. The idea is for them to be aware of what it takes to be a successful language learner and to try and decide how many of these characteristics they already possess and which ones they still need to work on. Encourage them to make notes.
Help them reflect on what it means to be an active learner, what it means to take charge of one’s own learning, to having to depend so much on the teacher. It basically means: I am responsible for my own process.
Students will be responsible for keeping record of their attendance to the laboratory as well as of their work. The laboratory will not register the students’ attendance and will not send teachers a weekly attendance report for any student in that group. The only way for ss to get their 10% is that they can prove to you -via their student log that they attended to the lab. If a student loses his/her log, he/she will lose their only evidence. This is to promote responsibility and accountability.
Invite them to start thinking about the answers to these questions, they don’t have to answer them right in this moment, ideally they take the time to think about them. Answering these questions is going to be part of the work they will have to do during their visit to the lab.
These instruments are available in the lab, the first one in hard copy in folders, the second and third on line through the Lab’s web page. Make sure all students are familiar with the laboratory. If you have any students taking PCI for the first time, send them to the lab for brief (20 min) induction in the following day and time: Tuesday 14 march 10:00-11:00 / 12:00-13:00 / 15:00-16:00 / 17:00-18:00
Hand out the student logs. Remind them that If a student loses his/her log, he/she will lose their only evidence of their lab visits.
In this section, students can plan during session 1 the kind of work they will do for the 7 weeks of the course. Encourage your students not to just tick one of the boxes for each week, but rather choose a specific activity/resource for example (Reading Speak up magazine, English to go, a story book, etc.) Remind ss of the fact that they are supposed to plan work for a whole hour, so they can choose more than one activity for one visit.
This section works very much like the registration form that students had in the laboratory. In this section they are required to explain the type of work done and a short reflection on the work done. For example: steps they followed, problems they encountered, strategies they used, which worked and which didn’t.
