Moreda's factory was the first in the area where the school now stands, producing fine crockery with 50 women and 217 men working in the factory. Next to the factory were 60 houses for the workers, though the workers experienced breathing problems from contact with the clay. The factory was demolished in 1988 and the school was built on the site.
