  2. 2. What vehicles have we got out of the invention of electricity? <ul><li>We have cars, planes, subways, and other things because of electricity </li></ul><ul><li>It gives us an alternative to using vehicles that give off emissions that are harmful to the environment </li></ul>
  3. 3. How was electricity used in transporting people at night? <ul><li>Electricity was also used for lighting street lights and keeping certain cities streets bright </li></ul>
  4. 4. History of electric car <ul><li>First electric powered car was built in the early 1830s </li></ul><ul><li>The first electric motor was demonstrated by Anyos Jedlik of Hungary in 1828. It was used for rotating parts </li></ul><ul><li>He later developed one powerful enough to use in a car </li></ul><ul><li>1837 American Thomas Davenport made a communicator type direct current electric motor with intention for commercial use </li></ul><ul><li>The cost of battery power was too much and he went bankrupt </li></ul>

Vehicles used before electricity <ul><li>Carts, drays, vans and wagons are vehicles that were used for transport of people and things before electricity </li></ul><ul><li>People in England used carriages. Barouches, landaus, victorias, curricles and broughams are all different types of carriages </li></ul>
