THE SAHAYADRI HILL RETREAT ESCAPADE
DAY 01 : MUMBAI - MAHABALESHWAR
Morning, pick up from your Mumbai Hotel at 0630 hours. Leave for Mahabaleshwar by road (165 km). Arrive Hotel at
Mahabaleshwar and check in. Evening visit Pratapgad Fort. Arrive Pratapgad Fort and visit the fort. Pratapgad has
witnessed the battle between Shivaji Maharaj and Afzal Khan wherein the former prevailed over his enemy. The fort
has a Bhavani Mandir, the statue of Shivaji Maharaj and the Punishment point. Pratapgad is a live in fort where even
today people reside in the fort and the main gate of the fort closes at 1800 hours. Return to Mahabaleshwar.
Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 02: MAHABALESHWAR
Morning after breakfast visit the visit the famous points of Mahabaleshwar. Arthur Point, Malcolm Point, Kate’s Point
Marjorie Point, Lord Elphinstone, General Lodwick and Elephant's Head Point and the Panch Ganga Temple. Evening
visit the Mapro Factory for shopping / snacks. Overnight at the hotel. (B)
DAY 03: MAHABALESHWAR - AMBOLI
Morning, after breakfast leave for Amboli by road (291 km). Arrive Amboli and check in at the hotel. Evening visit the
Mahadevgad and Shirgaonkar point, and the Kawlesaad Sunset Point. Overnight at the hotel. (B)
DAY 04: AMBOLI – SINDHUDURG
Morning, visit the visit Dhampur Lake (The water is crystal clear and has dense plantation of mango, kokam, coconut
and areca palm), Sindhudurg Fort (Shivaji’s sea fort with ramparts and bastions intact). Afternoon visit the famous
Hiranyakeshi Temple. Overnight at the hotel. (B)
DAY 05: AMBOLI – PANHALA
Morning after an early breakfast, leave for Panhala (110 km). Arrive Panhala and check in. Afternoon visit the Panhala
Fort. Panhala fort, visit Teen Darwaza, Sajja Kothi, the three granaries (Ganga, Jamuna and Saraswati) where rice
and wheat was stored. Overnight at the hotel. (B)
DAY 06: PANHALA – KOLHAPUR – PANHALA
Morning after breakfast, drive down to Kolhapur (25 km) to visit the New Palace, known as the Chhatrapati Sahu
Museum and exhibits an impressive collection of costumes, weapons, games, jewellery and the belongings of the
royalty of Kolhapur. Also visit the Mahalaxmi Temple. This temple is associated with Goddess Mahalaxmi and is one
of the Six Shakti Peethas in India. Afternoon visit the Kanheri Math. This museum showcases village life of India. It
has theme of. Self sufficient village in which every need of each person were get fulfilled in the village itself so that
they do not depend on external world for a living. Return to Panhala. Overnight at the hotel. (B)
DAY 07: PANHALA – MUMBAI
Morning after breakfast, check out of the hotel and leave for Mumbai (391 km). Arrive Mumbai and drop at your
Mumbai or Pune Hotel / Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport / CST Terminus for onward destination. Tour ends.
