Theguide has a mastery ofcultureThe area is well known for its extensive geo-thermalactivity with threads of steam poking up in all sorts ofplaces. The area is also well regarded for its greatrainbow and brown trout fishing in the 16 lakes. Lakes,formed from the craters of extinct volcanoes are alsopopular with people enjoying water-based activities.
Fourth stage; QueenstownThe Queenstown Gardens is abotanical garden which contains avariety of exotic and native treesand plants as well as a large pondand a range of facilities. Some ofthe facilities in the Garden includeTennis, Lawn Bowls or SkatingThere is a variety of trails in thegarden with views of thesurrounding mountains and of LakeWakatipu and the Frankton Arm.Arrowtown is a quaint town, a town onthe main street of the old buildings ofthe time of the gold rush convertedinto shops and restaurants. There arealso some great little places to eat. TheMuseum of the Lake District is a mustvisit to better understand the historyof this town
