Here Are A Few Reviews From Actual Buyers.
5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic pump – that lasts and lasts., October 14, 2008
By Brian Denton (North Carolina) -
This review is from: Zoeller 57-0001 M57 Basement High Capacity Sump Pump (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have an unusual set-up in my house: my roof drains rainwater into my basement sump pump pit, and the water is then pummped out through the house’s waste line. Because of this set-up, my sump pump gets a real workout on a regular basis, and it also has to accomodate dirt, sand, grit, and some leaves. Recently the switch wore out on my Zoeller M53 sump pump after over 10 years of worry free use. I initially searched Home Depot and Lowes for a new pump, but reviews of their pumps frequently reported major problems after as little as 2 years of light use! Also, their pumps are not equipped to deal with small solids, so it didn’t take much thought to decide that I should replace a Zoeller with another Zoeller. This time I bought the Zoeller M57 model, but the only difference between the M57 and the M53 is whether the base structure is made of plastic or iron. I don’t really see much advantage of either one over the other, but I bought the M57 with the iron base. I can sleep easy again knowing that no matter how much it rains, my Zoeller M57 can handle the job with ease.
One final note: I would recommend that anyone using a sump pump should also buy a water alarm – to alert you if your basement starts to flood. I never knew such a thing existed until I started searching for new pumps, but this $10-$12 investment can save you a MAJOR headache if, for some reason, your sump pump stops worki

  2. 2. 5.0 out of 5 stars Heavy duty, rock solid workhorse, March18, 2008By Zaine Ridling (Missouri, US)Had this pump for four years in my house and eight years in my businesses it has never failedyet. Zoellers M57 shares the same dimensions and is nearly identical to the M53. The M57 hasall cast iron construction and a cast iron impeller instead. Like the M53, it can pump 43 gallons(163L)/minute, passes half-inch solids, and shares a 1.5” discharge. Zoeller is the industrystandard: dont let anyone tell you differently. Its the brand the professionals use and theplumbers recommend. Unless you need the extra casing weight and prefer a cast iron impeller, get the M53.4.0 out of 5 stars Zoeller M57 Reviews Hoping for betterperformance/getting good performance still, August 3, 2009By K. Smith ""SK"" (Indianapolis, IN) -This review is from: Zoeller 57-0001 M57 Basement High Capacity Sump Pump (Tools & HomeImprovement)Recently replaced a previous Zoeller with this pump. The M57 came highly recommended. Theprevious Zoeller failed after 1.5 yrs flooding my basement. It was a low-end Zoeller,M72, howeveri still expected better. Im hoping for better from the M57. Upgraded to the M57 for addedprotection, and because of recent failures. Recently cleaned out the pit and had lots of dirt, gritand sand, etc. in it hence the effulent M57 pump w/ all cast iron construction. However, recentlyopened the pit and was surprised at the amount of rust around the base of the pump and at theseams in only 1-2 weeks. Had been getting some regen. water from water softner into this pit. Istopped this flow. Well see if the rust continues. Will rate performance further down the road.June 2010 UpdatePump continues to perform. Rust hasnt spread beyond initial observed and doesnt seem topresent a problem. The pump continues to pump water and pass small solids(dirt, twigs, cement, leaves etc.) without clogging. Great pump! Conclusion….Zoeller M57 ReviewThe Zoeller 57-0001 M57 High Capacity Sump Pump is built of high quality cast iron andstainless steel screws and handle (no rust). This 1/3 horsepower sump pump moves water at upto 2040 gallons per hour, at 10 lift. Float operated, submersible (NEMA 6) 2 pole mechanicalswitch & variable level long cycle. The Zoeller 57-0001 differs from the M53 in that it has a cast iron base and a solid cast ironimpeller, which makes it heavier. That also allows it to better handle sand, gravel, etcWithout breaking. For the small difference in cost, I would think you would be far ahead to goAhead and buy the Zoeller Model M57 instead of the M53. (My opinion)After researching the Zoeller M57, and seeing the very positive feedback from all the people, Ithink that the Zoeller M57 Sump Pump is a superior product for the money.I am most impressed with the durability, the pumping volume, and the Zoeller 57-0001 M57durable cast iron with epoxy coating. The only negative is no battery backup system. You can buya Zoeller Sump Pump that has a battery backup system. It is available on this site.
  3. 3. I do have a word of caution about the Zoeller 57-0001 sump pump warranty. Even though youhave that, be very sure to check your sump pump every season, a couple of times, by pouringwater into the pit until the sump pump actuates. If your Zoeller pump fails for any reason, while it is in warranty, the sump pump would bereplaced, but not the water damage to your home. All sump pumps fail eventually. It could be aloooong time, but when it finally happens, it is usually when you need it most.So checking your sump pump for proper operation, is doubly important if you dont have a batterybackup sump pump, and three times as important if you dont have flood insurance. Nuff said?OK.See the other details at http://sumppumpsrus.com/zoeller-57-0001-m57-high-capacity-sump-pump/Buy At Low Price here >>> Zoeller 57-0001 M57 Basement High Capacity Sump Pump
