3. 3. Cloud computing is Internet-based computing, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices on demand.
So, whatiscloudcomputing?
6. 6. Virtualization.
The creation of a virtual version of something, such as an operating system, a server, a storage device or network resources.
Service-OrientedArchitecture.
A flexible set of design principles used during the phases of systems development and integration in computing.
Utiliycomputing.
Packaging of computing resources, such as computation, storage and services, as a metered service similar to a traditional public utility. This model has the advantage of a low or no initial cost to acquire computer resources; instead, computational resources are essentially rented - turning what was previously a need to purchase products (hardware, software and network bandwidth) into a service.
It’s a natural evolution of…
7. 7. Software as a Service (SaaS)
Also known as Cloud Applications.
Software on Demand.
Examples: SalesForce, Googles Apps.
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
Also known as Cloud Infrastructure.
Delivers computer infrastructure as a service. Resources: servers, data-center space, network equipment.
Examples: Amazon EC2.
Platform as a Service (PaaS)
Also known as Cloud platforms.
Deliver a computing platform or solution stack as a service, often consuming cloud infrastructure and sustaining cloud applications. Databases, framework, web servers belongs to this category.
Examples: Google App Engine, Force.com
Cloud computingareas
