  3. 3. Exercise regularly and maintain a healthy weight. Exercising 10-19 hours per week may reduce your risk of breast cancer by 30% Your BMI (Body Mass Index) should stay between 19-25 Adena Health Systems 3
  4. 4. Limit alcohol and tobacco use. For every one drink you average a day, your risk is goes up 7% If you start smoking young, your risk increases by 20% If you smoke 15-35 years, your risk goes up 34% Adena Health Systems 4
  5. 5. Your risk is DOUBLED… between the ages of 50-75 if you have 1 immediate family member with breast cancer Adena Health Systems 5
