10. Hypothesis Forms – H3
Component: Value proposition Code: VP01
Hypothesis University Students are not completely satisfied with team works because they
have these problems:
• Time consumed to book meetings
• Discussion tracking (too many comments that you missed).
• Files management (tracking changes and many versions of the same document).
• Getting distracted by notifications while doing a group work on Facebook.
• Usage of more than one platform.
Test • 100 Surveys ranking the problems described from University Students.
• 20 interviews from University Students.
Validation Each problem is at least 75% ranked in the top 3.

Hypothesis The main functions University Students use on Facebook Groups are finding
people, chatting (discussions and meeting scheduling) and sending files. However,
Facebook is not customized to do this kind of tasks.
Test 20 interviews to University Students asking (1) for what purposes they use
Facebook, regarding team work, and (2) if they believe it is suits the needs.
Validation • 1st part: 50% use Facebook mainly for those functions.
• 2nd part: 50% said “no”.

19. Interviews Key Takeaways
Top 3 problems our interviewees identified
Usage of more than one
platform (keep track of
more than one)
Time consumed to
book meetings
Different perspectives
and expectations for
the final grade
Some problems besides the
ones we considered in our
sample
Do not know exactly what each one has to
do
Problems with communication, especially
when teamworking with people from
different culture
Manage a team without any kind of
authority towards your colleagues

Feeling towards current solution is mixed
Quite feeling confident with the others,
especially GoogleDocs because you
can see immediately the changes.
I am satisfied with Dropbox.
Could exist a better solution.
It is not optimal.
Generally, it is not very practical to
have many platforms to check. You
just use because there is no
alternative.
Satisfactory, it is not perfect but you
can do the work.
22. 2
Everyone is already on Facebook and the students
are already connected all the time
I am quite forced to use it because all the people use it and everyone is connected to
this social network. It’s impossible to escape.
I am always connected because I have a Smartphone so it’s quite easy to keep in
touch with team people.
I am already there and I am always connected - There are no multi-homing costs, I
don’t have to go and long in into another platform.
23. However, students agree that Facebook is not for
studying, it is very distracting and discussion tracking is not
convenient
Facebook is not to study, it’s better to use other platforms for that.
There is too many distractions and I can’t focus on doing my work properly because
notifications never stop coming
I consider Facebook as non-efficient and mainly customized to keep in touch with
friends and share funny pictures.
The tracking of the comments is horrible – you lose comments, suddenly you have like
30 comments (huge comments sometimes!)
24. 2
Teamwork platforms (Evernote, Azendoo…) are not widely
used because they are unknown and no one is there
Convo, Assana, and Base Camp - These are really good solutions to me, and very
efficient. The only problem is that people don’t know them, and everyone needs to
subscribe before we can start teamwork.
No one knows, when you are going to do the work, you don’t even think about them.
Never heard of them.
25. 2
Most suggested solution
was an integration with a
current platform (Facebook
or Google)
For me, the ideal would be an interrelation of the various platforms
inside one platform already widely used by everyone – Facebook
(open API)
Premium version of Facebook for professional use and teamworks.
Facebook with a feature to schedule appointments.
Facebook with the notifications of programs such as Base Camp,
Convo, Assana.
Google would be more appropriate, as they already have different
sections (Google Docs, Google Forms…) – could create a specific
one, for instance inside Google Scholar, with all those features we
are planning to provide.
Some very interesting suggestions!

Some very interesting suggestions!
It should have a little bit of everything
but still be simple and easy to use.
Adapt you business model and try to
target the companies.
Gantt diagram, where you have
reminders.
Add some Gamification for team
building purposes. For example, in the
beginning, when we don’t know each
other very well yet, to have some kind
of team work gaming.
It would be also very helpful to have
some kind of evaluation method. I don’t
very well how, maybe the number of
hours, even though this can be very
misleading.
Create a forum inside each fold with
different topics of the group work – do
not mix ideas.
