Clean Sky Engines Summary• Investment in new engine architectures & technology is key to meeting future environmental challenges• SAGE in Clean Sky is addressing the challenges through 5 Engine Concepts• The ‘Open Rotor’ concept is the biggest technology step for engines and aircraft for reducing CO2 emissions• We have made significant advances across the front of new technologies in Clean sky, reducing technical risk• We are now progressing the 5 concept demonstrator designs in parallel with the technology programmes• Engine technologies take many years to develop and verify. Clean Sky is part of the journey – we will need to do more to12 get to Vision 2020 – and ultimately Flightpath 2050 12
