  2. 2. ATP-PC Assoon as the whistle blows at the start of a game of netball, the immediate reaction for a WA, WD, GA and GD of both teams is to sprint to make a lead to receive the pass and beat your opponent. At this stage in a game the ATP-PC system immediately kicks in.
  3. 3. Anaerobic Glycolysis/Lactic Acid System Afterthis reaction of ATP- PC from the first centre pass the lactic acid system then takes over gradually for the next 5- 15 seconds at a maximal effort but lasting for up to 60 seconds of hard running and agility actions. (dodging, stop/start)
  4. 4. Aerobic Glycolysis For the position of a C (centre) player, there will be constant running, after a few minutes of running the Aerobic system will have fully taken over. The aerobic system can be used indefinitely.
  5. 5. Replenishment Atquarter time and three quarter time you are allowed a 3 minute brake, and at half time a 5 minute break. At each of these breaks it has allowed the phosphocreatine to replenish as this process takes 3-5 minutes. The aerobic system hasn’t been exhausted therefore wont need replenishing.
