GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The "honey-do" list just got a lot shorter.
The new "ladies night" for some women in the Piedmont Triad isn't at a restaurant or bar, but at The
Home Depot.
The home improvement store is offering "Do-It-Herself" workshops. These are classes that are
specifically for women -- teaching them how to do different improvement or repair projects at home.
"We usually have about 100, sometimes close to 200 ladies here," Jennifer Bradley, a supervisor at
The Home Depot on South Elm-Eugene Street in Greensboro , said.
Barbara Foy is a specialty assistant manager at the same location. Within the last two years that her
store has offered the workshops, Foy has helped give them a "girls night" feel.
"It gave us the opportunity to let women know that they
were empowered to finish these projects on their own and
they don't need someone to help them," she said.
The projects can range from how to apply backsplash tile
to restoring drywall.
The workshops are held on the third Thursday of each
month. You can visit the company's website to register
for a workshop near you.
