  3. 3. <ul><li>Introduction </li></ul><ul><li>The purpose of this work is to present a proposal for the ICT in ELT course to be used with our students. </li></ul><ul><li>Students of English from the Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas (IVIC) will be involved into this project. </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>Aim </li></ul><ul><li>By the end of the course students will have acquired English knowledge (in reading, writing, listening and speaking skills) through the use of different web tools especially through a class blog . </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>Objectives </li></ul><ul><li>Students </li></ul><ul><li>will learn how to use blogs as a tool to learn and practice English. </li></ul><ul><li>will be able to integrate different web tools in the process of English learning. </li></ul><ul><li>will obtain extra writing, reading, speaking and listening practice outside the classroom. </li></ul><ul><li>w ill learn how to work collaboratively with classmates. </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>Theoretical framework </li></ul><ul><li>The origins of blogging go further back than the Internet to the days of personal diaries. </li></ul><ul><li>Today, a blog (abbreviated from weblog) is often described as an online journal but it can also be described as “a web site that is easily created and updated by those with even a minimum of technology know-how“. In other words, blogs are like online diaries. </li></ul>

  10. 12. <ul><li>Participants </li></ul><ul><li>Seven master and doctorate students from the Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas (IVIC) </li></ul><ul><li>Level of English: intermediate </li></ul><ul><li>Students will work in 3 groups (2 of 2 and 1 of 3) </li></ul>
  11. 13. <ul><li>Activities </li></ul><ul><li>(for 3 weeks) </li></ul><ul><li>Students will be invited by the English teacher to become authors and participants of the class blog. </li></ul><ul><li>Each group will have a coordinator (named by the teacher). </li></ul><ul><li>An introductory class about blogging and some web tools used for learning English will be given to students. </li></ul>
  12. 14. <ul><li>Activities </li></ul><ul><li>(for 3 weeks) </li></ul><ul><li>Task#1 (1 st week): each group will create an account in snapvine </li></ul><ul><li>They will record an “about us” message in which they will introduce themselves (names, course they take at IVIC, etc). </li></ul><ul><li>They will post their voice messages on the class blog. </li></ul>
