Establish up to 3 new Business Education Partnerships. </li></ul><ul><li>The Business Education Models pull from the experience of the Berks, Greater </li></ul><ul><li>Hazleton and Lehigh Valley Business Education Partnerships who successfully </li></ul><ul><li>coordinate the resources of the business community in partnership with the education </li></ul><ul><li>community with respect to career awareness, talent and workforce development to </li></ul><ul><li>improve the pipeline of workers needed in business and industry. Under the Existing </li></ul><ul><li>partnerships’ expertise, up to three new business education partnerships will be </li></ul><ul><li>Replicated . </li></ul><ul><li>2. Staff the Business Education Partnerships with Career and Workforce </li></ul><ul><li>Coordinators . </li></ul><ul><li>To expand the development of business education partnerships in the Northeast, it is </li></ul><ul><li>imperative that Career and Workforce Coordinators be hired . Three part-time </li></ul><ul><li>Coordinators will assist the existing partnerships in strategic planning and coordinating </li></ul><ul><li>partners and resources of the business and educational community and up to three </li></ul><ul><li>full-time Coordinators, one for each new partnership, working with business, education </li></ul><ul><li>and community leaders, serving as intermediaries, to lead, establish and design the </li></ul><ul><li>structure of new business education partnerships. </li></ul>NORTHEAST PA FINANCIAL SERVICES OCTOBER 1, 2009

Replicate the successful PA CareerLinking Academy </li></ul><ul><li>Career Awareness Model. </li></ul><ul><li>This innovative career exploration program targeted for students in </li></ul><ul><li>grades 10-12 is aligned to the PA Department of Education’s Academic </li></ul><ul><li>Standards for Career Education and Work , adheres to federal, state, </li></ul><ul><li>and local career education initiatives and is aligned with high school </li></ul><ul><li>educational requirements for use as a senior graduation project . The </li></ul><ul><li>Academy provides students with a structured program where they </li></ul><ul><li>explore career interests and become linked to the world of work and </li></ul><ul><li>education. The CareerLinking Academy Model was awarded a </li></ul><ul><li>National Pinnacle Award for innovativeness from the National Society </li></ul><ul><li>for Human Resource Management, our partners in this Model. </li></ul>NORTHEAST PA FINANCIAL SERVICES OCTOBER 1, 2009

Replicate the successful Career Pathways Education </li></ul><ul><li>Career Awareness program. </li></ul><ul><li>This comprehensive, educational career awareness program prepares </li></ul><ul><li>a student for a successful career, based on interests and abilities, </li></ul><ul><li>provides a scope and sequence of academic and technical courses in </li></ul><ul><li>determining educational pathways for students. Students follow a </li></ul><ul><li>rigorous coherent program of studies focused on career pathways to </li></ul><ul><li>increase mathematics, science, communication, problem-solving and </li></ul><ul><li>technical skills, have access to career, technical studies and academic </li></ul><ul><li>studies, provides a career-based structured system of study. With exceptional assessment tools for students, teachers, </li></ul><ul><li>Guidance counselors and parents, Career Cruising provides detailed </li></ul><ul><li>occupation profiles , comprehensive post-secondary education information, </li></ul><ul><li>career interest surveys , occupational video streaming and much more.
