16 nacional teams take part in euro 2012. The final tournament stars on 8th June 2012 and finishes 1st July 2012. The stages of the tournaments are in the stadiums of Poland and Ukraine.
EURO 2012 is the fourteenth edition of the Euro, the main tournament between European soccer teams organized by UEFA. This edition of the tournament is taking place in Poland and Ukraine, from June 8 to July 1. It is also the first European Championship taking place in Eastern Europe, since it was made in 1976 in the former Yugoslavia. It is also the first European championship in history which will be hosted by two countries in different time zones. The decision to award the seat to the two Slavic countries was announced by UEFA President Michel Platini, the April 18, 2007, beating finalists nominations of Croatia with Hungary and Italy, for a total of eight nominations original. The various organizational problems and delays in the works for the refurbishment of stadiums have hurt several times the performance of the tournament in both Slavic countries, although UEFA confirmed its realization there.
