  2. 2. Aims <ul><li>Identify elements of ‘quality’ ESOL provision </li></ul><ul><li>Explore strategies to improve specific aspects </li></ul><ul><li>Discuss issues ‘on the horizon’ for ESOL provision </li></ul><ul><li>Begin an action plan for improving quality in your own organisation </li></ul>

Background <ul><li>After poor performance across the organisation, Keighley College merged with Park Lane College Leeds in September 2008 to form Park Lane College Keighley </li></ul><ul><li>Ofsted inspected ESOL, Skills for Life and Entry provision in January 2008 and found it remained ‘inadequate’ </li></ul><ul><li>New Programme Managers (including ESOL) started in February 2008 </li></ul><ul><li>Ofsted re-inspected in February 2009 and found provision to be ‘good’ </li></ul><ul><li>Park Lane College became part of Leeds City College in April 2009 </li></ul>
