  2. 2. What is it? <ul><li>Auditory Processing is the medical term for LISTENING </li></ul><ul><li>Auditory Processing difficulties ARE NOT the same as hearing impairments </li></ul><ul><li>People with Auditory Processing difficulties can hear the sounds well, but not ‘process’ them </li></ul>
  3. 3. Symptoms <ul><li>Many of the symptoms of CAPD (Central Auditory Processing Disorders) are not unique to CAPD. It can’t be diagnosed without detailed specialist testing. </li></ul><ul><li>Difficulty hearing in noisy situations </li></ul><ul><li>Difficulty following long conversations </li></ul><ul><li>Difficulty maintaining a focus if other sounds are present </li></ul><ul><li>Difficulty with organisational skills </li></ul>
