Infrastructure firm GMR Group plans to raise at least $1 billion over the next two years to help cut debt, repay investors in its airports
business and prepare for a new phase of growth, its chief financial officer said on Monday. "It will be partly used to repay debt. We may
also grow into the renewables space, or look at a small expansion into our existing energy business," Madhu Terdal told Reuters in a
telephone interview. "We are now in the turnaround phase." GMR, which has a net debt of 410 billion rupees($6.15 billion), has also held
preliminary talks with investors about stake sales in its airports and energy businesses but is "not in a hurry" to sell and talks are not at an
advancedstage,Terdalsaid.

Indian shares may open lower Tuesday, following weakness in Wall Street overnight, after oil prices fell to a seven-year low,
sparking worries of the health of the global economy. Asian shares too are trading weak, despite Japan posting positive
quarterly GDP data (1 percent) that were ahead of estimates. However, traders say markets may not trade in any firm
direction, as many would go light into a Federal Reserve meeting scheduled early meeting. The Fed is widely expected to hike
interest rates in the world's largest economy for the first time in nine years. Investors will also keep an eye on Dr Lal Pathlabs
and Alkeb Labs, both of which will hit with market with an initial public offer today.
US stocks fell on Monday, led by the S&P energy index's biggest one-day percentage drop since late August as oil prices slid to
their lowest point in nearly seven years. US crude oil futures CLc1 settled down almost 6 percent while Brent crude LCOc1 fell
more than 5.3 percent after OPEC's meeting last week failed to address a growing supply glut. After several days of wild
volatility, the stock market may use the coming week to catch its breath, as it waits for the Fed to end the historic era of zero
interest rates later this month.
