This is a presentation on the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System assessment tool which can be utilized by health care professionals to help identify a patient's risks of developing health issues and which health issues those might be.

Helping state and local communities to
develop appropriate health promotion
projects

Everyone or special populations
 ex: military personal
People over age 18 with a phone
Does not take place in a healthcare setting
Questionnaire can be modified to be State
specific
Can be used Regionally & Nationally for
comparison

Subjective data is collected
Data collected varies early based on
different topics covered
Person on other end of phone is giving
data

6. Limitations
Only available in English and Spanish
Must have phone
Wording of questions can result in
misunderstand and lead to measurement
error
No other way to conduct this survey
