THE WORD ORIGINATES FROM HINDU MYTHOLOGICAL 'KALPA VRIKSHA’ - WISHING TREE.  THE KALPASAR PROJECT ENVISAGES BUILDING A DAM ACROSS THE GULF OF KHAMBAT FOR GENERATING TIDAL POWER AND FOR ESTABLISHING A HUGE RESERVOIR FOR FRESH WATER FOR IRRIGATION, DRINKING AND INDUSTRIAL PURPOSES.

  18. 18. PORTS DEVELOPED 1) Bhavanagar 2 ) Dholera 3) Khambhat 4) Dahej 5) Bharuch High Tide Low Tide PORTS DEVELOPMENT KALPASAR will provide about 10 times area than the Rotterdam port, which handles cargo of 32.8 crore tonnes annually and generates Rs. 31,000 crores per year.
