3. What does a Knee
Ligament Injury feel like?
Pain, often sudden and severe.
Swelling within the first 24 hours after
the injury.
A loud pop or snap during the injury.
A feeling of looseness in the joint.

5. ACL Injury
An ACL injury is a tear or sprain of
the anterior cruciate ligament
(ACL), one of the major ligaments in
your knee.
ACL injuries most commonly occur
during sports that involve sudden
stops or changes in direction,
jumping and landing such as
soccer, basketball, football and
downhill skiing.

6. A PCL(posterior cruciate ligament)
injury is a sprain, stretch or tear of
the PCL ligament.
The PCL most often is sprained
when the front of the knee hits the
dashboard during an automobile
accident or during sports activities

7. MCL Injury
An MCL injury is a sprain or tear to
the medial collateral ligament.

8. An LCL injury is a sprain or tear to the
lateral collateral ligament (LCL). The
LCL is a band of tissue that connects
your thigh bone to the bone of your
lower leg and helps keep the knee
from bending outward. LCL can be hurt
during activities that involve bending,

10. When Surgery is needed?
Most collateral ligament tears (LCL
