  3. 3. Secondly create the final design.
  4. 4. Find materials to make the sculpture.
  5. 5. Make a base for the sculpture.
  6. 6. Finally start melting the records to put them in place.</li></ul>What is the purpose of the sound wave?<br /><ul><li> The resulting structure speaks to the inevitable waves of technology that render each successive generation of recordable media obsolete.

The piece also aims to physically manifest the ephemerality of music as well as one man’s musical tastes, as represented by his personal record collection.</li></ul>How does the artefact look?<br /><ul><li>The artefact looks like a wave from the sea, but then when you look at it closer you can tell that the wave is made up of records. This is where the name comes from. ‘Sound Wave’.
