Lyrics At first glance, these lyrics can appear to be written by some kids creating a childish song, however, as with all lyrics, there can be a hidden story. Firstly, the fact that Crisis Journey reference South London, their home town, connotes how these lyrics could actually be about them. This song could also be seen to reference the stereotypical lives of young people as it talks about the idea of ‘techno’ music and also going to as many clubs as possible which can be seen as something stereotypical for a teenager to do. However, this could also anchor the idea that this song is written about themselves as they are at the age that is known for going out to clubs, drinking and listening to that kind of music.
Lyrics Due to the fact that there are not many lyrics in this song, I also believe that this song was created to show the real personality of the band. For example, the fast upbeat music on the track and the childish lyrics connote the more immature and fun-loving side of the band. There is also something else that stands out about these lyrics; the lyrics, as a whole, are very unconventional lyrics for a boy band. This anchors the genre that the band is part of, alternative pop punk, and also shows that they are influenced by bands such as Blink 182, as many of their lyrics have the same childish feel about them. I also think that I can use the simplicity of these lyrics to my advantage as, because they’re aren’t many lyrics both overall and in the chorus alone, I will be able to allow the band to show more of their own personality and this will anchor the idea of their personality and also emphasises the fact that they are in this certain music genre.
