  3. 3. • 25 Gb per user of Cloud Storage • Range of Mobile Apps that access storage • Syncs to Windows 7/8 desktops • Some browser support for mobile platforms • Includes web versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. • A single storage space for personal Glow content • Can share with any other Glow user

  8. 8. Glow Office 365 Apps • Only require a Glow email address + password OneDrive for Business (Storage) OWA (for Email) Lync (Voice, IM, Web Conference etc.) SharePoint Newsfeed
  9. 9. Web Apps and mobile • Web Apps work well in modern browsers on desktops/laptops. • But not a good experience on mobile devices (best on iPad) • Not usable on small screen devices for editing • Better to use native apps and OneDrive for Business App to download/upload.
  10. 10. • Free for iPhone, Android and Windows phones • Requires Microsoft ID • Can link to a Glow account and view/edit OneDrive Office Documents.
  11. 11. • Free App on Apple iPhone/iPad, Android and Windows Phone (and Windows and Mac OS X) • For learning and teaching – probably the best offering in Glow/Office 365 • Share notebooks with learners, use video, audio and much more. • Requires a Microsoft ID for Mobile App • Can link to a Glow account and view/edit OneDrive Notebooks
  12. 12. Mobile in Glow: Conclusion • User experience is improving, lots of app updates • Office Mobile on phones but needs Microsoft ID, needs paid account on tablets • Stick with Apps which only use Glow Credentials on school owned devices.
  13. 13. If Glow is truly to support Curriculum for Excellence then we need to get smarter about our digital resources and develop tools to help teachers create learning experiences that draw on digital content from a wide range of sources.
