Dear Family,
Welcome to the Chapel St Family Hub, a new centre opening for
children and families in Roehampton this September, 2010.
Our family hub will be delivering nursery and family services, all
designed to help children and families grow together.
The central service of our Family Hub is our new day nursery. Open
from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., for children from 3 months to five years, we’ll
provide your child with quality childcare and early years education.
In this information pack, you’ll find details about our day nursery
service, our location, how to register for child’s place, a fees list and
how to join the Family Hub community online.
As a new nursery, our nursery set up team are busy getting our new
building ready for official opening in September. Between now and
then, you’ll be able to meet our team at various drop in sessions we
are holding in Roehampton. We’ll also be holding various Open Days
and visiting sessions this summer for prospective families to view our
new nursery environment.
We hope that this information pack tells you all you need to know
about the Family Hub and of course, if you have any questions, we’d
love to hear from you at: nursery@chapelst.org or on: 020 8241

10. Chapel St Nursery
Terms and Conditions
The information below is to outline the service provided and the basis upon which a place at the nursery is offered and
accepted.
Registration
A fee of £50 is payable on registration. This is non-refundable. Your completed application form will be kept on file and
your child's name will be placed on the waiting list. We will do our best to offer a place on the days and date requested
and to give you as much notice as possible that the place will be available. A place is reserved on receipt of written
acceptance and guaranteed once the first month's fees have been received no later than one month in advance of
requested start date. Prior to your child commencing nursery attendance, parents/guardian will be asked to read and
sign a number of nursery policies which will be outlined to you during an induction visit.
Change of Details
It is essential that we are kept fully and promptly informed of any changes to address and telephone numbers or parents
at home and work, as well as any changes to any emergency contact persons and their contact details. We also have to
be informed if there is any change in details of the custody for a child. It is the responsibility of parents to keep the
nursery up to date with such details
Opening hours
The nursery is open Monday to Friday 8am-6pm all year. We are closed for Bank Holidays and for the period between
Christmas and New Year. No fees are charged when the nursery is closed. The only exception is on the last working
day before Christmas when the nursery closes at 3pm and the full days fees are payable.
Hours
The nursery will be registered with Ofsted to operate between the hours of 8am-6pm. Children may arrive and depart at
times within these hours to suit parents/guardians. As with sickness and holidays, we regret that there is no reduction if
a place is not used to its full capacity. A charge, which is in excess of that of the pro-rata hourly rate, will be levied if
children are collected after the normal closing time of 6pm. Details of the current late collection fee are available from
the Nursery Manager.
Sickness
Children should not be brought to the nursery if they are unwell or suffering from contagious illness. The nursery
reserves the right to exclude a child who, in the opinion for the nursery manager, presents a potential health risk to other
children or staff. Parents/guardians of a child who becomes unwell when at nursery will be contacted and requested to
collect the sick child. On application supply us with 2 local contact emergency numbers. These are vital in the event that
we are unable to contact parents and the child needs to be collected. We would also be grateful if you would let us have
the name and telephone number of your doctor and Health Visitor, for use in an emergency.
Absences due to sickness or holidays
For the convenience of parents/guardians the nursery is open and fully staffed all year. We therefore regret that there is
no reduction in fees for any absence from nursery for holidays or sickness. Because the numbers in each age group are
strictly governed by Ofsted, we regret that the nursery is unable to offer any flexibility on this condition and parents
accepting a place at nursery are deemed to have fully understood this provision. It is the place, exclusively reserved for
your child, that is being charged for—not the attendance. It is therefore really important, if you know you require long
absences for holidays, to consider whether full day care is the correct option for you.
Extra days / Emergency Places/ Swap Days
Children may book extra days at nursery, subject to availability. Emergency places may be booked for children who do
not normally attend nursery to help parents over busy or difficult times, subject to availability. These bookings must be
paid for at the time of booking. We will do our best to accommodate requests for swapped days but they cannot be
guaranteed as they are subject to availability. Swapped days can only be permitted if they fall within the same week.
Fees:
Fees will be invoiced and payable each month, payable in advance by the 1st of each month. Fees will be charged for
the exact number of days your child is booked to attend nursery during that month. Fees not paid by the 1st of each
month may be subject to a late payment charge of £1 for each day the nursery is open (from the 1st day of the month to
the day the invoice is paid). We reserve the right to exclude a child from the nursery if the fees are more than two weeks
late without prior agreement.
11. Notice
Leaving Nursery: Four weeks notice is required when a child leaves the nursery (or four weeks fees in lieu of notice).
Notice must be in writing to the Nursery Manager. Notice will be deemed to start from when the notice is received by
the nursery Manager, and your written notice will also be acknowledged in writing.
Reducing Days: four weeks written notice is required if you wish to reduce your days. The procedure should be the
same as that for leaving the nursery (above).
Increasing or Changing Days: Subject to availability we will do our best to accommodate any extra or changed days
as soon as possible.
In the unlikely event that any child(in the opinion of the nursery Manager) is constantly behaving in an aggressive or
unreasonable manager, parents may be asked to find alternative day care.
Staff
If any member of staff who has been employed by chapel St Nursery is within three months is subsequently employed
by a parent/guardian to care for a child who has previously been registered at Chapel St Nursery, then the parent/
guardian will be liable to pay Chapel St a sum equivalent to three month’s salary for the employee at their time of
employment with Chapel St.
Meals
Breakfast, mid-morning snack, a cooked lunch (two courses) and a light tea are included in the fees. Formula milk in
sterilised bottles is not included and parents/guardians should bring prepared bottles to the nursery on a daily basis. A
weekly menu for lunch and tea are displayed on the nursery notice board.
Nappies, Baby Cream and Wipes
These should be provided by parents according to their child’s needs.
Clothes
A set of spare clothes should be provided by parents. Please be aware that whilst protective aprons will be provided for
messy play, we cannot guarantee that clothes will not be soiled or permanently stained. Clothes should be labeled with
your child’s name. We cannot accept responsibility for the loss of any un-named articles of clothing.
Valuables
Please try to ensure that your child does not bring any valuables to the nursery. We cannot accept responsibility for any
loss or damage of any valuable or toys brought to the nursery.
