EVENT TYPE• After its launch in march 2013,National university of Rwandachapter is working to recruit its members and potential studentswho need to share and learn each other skills and knowledge ofentrepreneurship and small business startups.• Each Friday afternoon from 4:00pm-8:00pm local time, NUR C:Fchapter started an evening of entrepreneurship since may 1st2013.The event is in type of sharing ideas event. Differentpresentations, group discussions, testimonies and history ofbusiness success are shared and discussed among the eventparticipants.• The event is held at National university of Rwanda, each Fridayand involve lecturers,students,business managers, bankmanagers, and small business entrepreneurs.• The event is organized in a way of sharing, discussing andlearning on history of successful entrepreneurs from the region,the country and global in general. Students from all range offaculties are invited ,they range from economics andmanagement, social sciences,agribusiness,pharmacy andmedicine

HOW YOUTH DISCOVER, ACTIVATE ANDDEVELOP POTENTIALS• The event invite lecturers from faculty of economics andmanagement who involve more in the business issues in theirdaily life to join us as speakers for giving us a note onscientific entrepreneurship which enable students to attend tolearn from experienced lecturers.• Presentation of succeeded students in entrepreneurship areheld in each event to show participants that our colleaguesarrived on it and that they can do it too.• Group discussions are done and each group present to thegeneral public on the issue or a business that they identifiedand give a note on how they come up with the idea.• Assignment of doing a research on a profitable business,product or business are given to groups for their next eventmeeting and they do a research on it in different domain andregions of the country. This have to be presented to thegeneral meeting.• We are working with the university to establish a partnershipof giving mentors to help us developing ideas that differentgroup identified in order to turn ideas into profitable business.

ADDED VALUE FOR PARTICIPANTS• Participants are currently all individuals whohave the thirsty of becoming their own boss andit help our event to grow week by week byreceiving new participants.• Our participants range from academia(lecturersand students),managers and succeededentrepreneurs who are at the field and we usethem to guide our participants by giving themtestimony on how good to become entrepreneurs.

EVENT AGENDA AND PARTICIPANTS• Event agenda of Friday of eachweek:• 3:30-4:00pm:receivingparticipants and registration• 4:00-4:30pm:welcomingparticipants and speaker of theday note.• 4:30-5:00pm:last eventassignment presentations• 5:00-7:00pm:assigning topicsand group discussions• 7:00pm-8:00pm:grouppresentation, discussions andcomments from businessmanagers and lecturers.

NEED IDENTIFICATION AND REPORT ONTHE IMPACT• Skills and competencies that youth need:Youth in Rwanda who account half of its citizenslack entrepreneurial skills and creativitydevelopment.Lack of centers which provide skills of starting ownbusiness and which provide guidance toencourage youth.Youth in Rwanda lack mentors to correct theirideas which they think that can produce income.s

HOW TO SOLVE IT AND WHAT THE EVENTCONTRIBUTE To solve the problem, youth need entrepreneurialguidance and mentors which will encourage themto start something which matters. Youth need a way of meeting with peers to shareskills and learn each other on how to developthemselves. The event help youth to discover businessopportunities in their areas of living. Youth gain the opportunity to meet withsuccessful entrepreneurs and business managersto give them advices.

EVIDENCE OF MEANINGFUL CHANGE More than 30 Students have entered in differentcompetitions including dell social innovationchallenge, challenge future,african innovationprize and Hanga Umurimo(create job) 5 students has started their own business sincethe start of NUR c:f chapter. The number of students who attend our eventhas increased from 20 to 60 to discuss differentissues of starting their own business.
