  • who to thank - started as part of seattle - research introduce the next fellow 1/3 funders 1/3 partners & advisors 1/3 city gov't officials no one knows the internet open source/ api - basic language why is it relevant why is it important what does our project make evident transparency/ collaborations?
  • Chach People in the audience don’t know what the Tenderloin is if they’re not from SF, so just clarify that. +1 Took to minute 2 to get to the app -- let’s get there faster. +1 -- Cut the thirteen intro slides down to one, and then jump straight to the app. Think of the ROI/value add for city officials -- that’s the audience. (discovery - > missing communities - better civic partici[ation) Great product idea! “ People have been trying to do this for a long time”  -- make it really clear what THIS is Emphasize the reuse; that’s amazing. Actually being used in multiple cities -- that’s rare for FOSS. THIS is clear:  “People don’t know who their block watch captain is, so we’re helping them” ← GOOD community hackathons
  • link the data to crime maps link the data to civic web apps link the data to 311 -- street cleanup projects, for example better civic participation more people discovering activity that is already going check out experience from the librairy the way you would check out out a book
