  3. 3. FOCUS STATEMENT: Christ’s death has purchased for the Christian a present and a future inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading.
  4. 4. KEY VERSE: EPHESIANS 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.

MAIN IDEAS: At salvation, the Christian becomes an heir of God’s kingdom. A Christian’s inheritance is purchased by the death of Jesus, secured by the Holy Spirit and guarded through faith. The inheritance of God’s children is both present and future- though aspects of it are experienced now, it will be fully realized in eternity. The Christian’s inheritance is an imperishable, undefiled, and unfading treasure.

A: a holy and blameless standing before the Father (called righteous); adoption- we become the children of God; redemption- the penalty of our sin has been paid and we have been ransomed from the wrath of God; forgiveness- our sins are not held against us
