It wasn’t until Benny Goodman started using a mixed ensemble that jazz became a media of everyone. Your group will research Benny Goodman, “The king of Swing”. You must find information about Benny Goodman using the internet including his life, his music and his orchestra and create a power point presentation and one other task.

The presentation should include: </li></ul><ul><li>Time line with Important dates </li></ul><ul><li>Important hit songs </li></ul><ul><li>Videos if possible </li></ul><ul><li>Pictures </li></ul><ul><li>Important historical events of the era. </li></ul><ul><li>Also the students will choose one of the following: </li></ul><ul><li>Perform a short 16 measure excerpt from any Benny Goodman song on any instrument from his big band. </li></ul><ul><li>Research one other famous jazz musician that performed in Benny Goodman’s swing band and describe 5 fun fact about this person. </li></ul><ul><li>Design an album cover for Benny Goodman’s next record. </li></ul><ul><li>Choose one instrument from Benny Goodman’s band and describe why you like it. </li></ul>Title
