There’s an App for That Findings from the Good Technology Mobility Index Report Q4 2013 BYOD is on the rise as the number of employee-owned smartphones have more than doubled from 2012 - 2014.1 Workers globally that bring their own smartphones to work. 328M 174M 132M 88M 2012 2013 2014 2017 Organizations are migrating away from BlackBerry to secure their data on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. Device activations increased 34% from Q1 to Q4 2013 Q1 Q2 iOS up from 72% in Q3 and 69% in Q2 2013. iOS 73% Q3 Q4 Android’s share of activations continued to decrease quarter over quarter. Android 26% Windows Phone activations remained steady at 1% of total device activations. With these new platforms, organizations are leveraging mobile apps to make more employees more collaborative and engaged. Document editing is the enterprise app of choice on both smartphones and tablets, with custom apps and file access following close behind.
