1. 1. METHODOLOGY
DEVELOPMENT & MANAGEMENT
DYNAMIC DIGITAL COMMUNICATION
(Digital Signage)
MAY 2011
2. 2. 2
“Digital Signage” (DS) market segment or Dynamic Digital Communication (DDC) requires an organization and standards. All2com proposes Agile4com.

The main objective of this methodology is to establish a working basis which will allow the best decisions with more confidence in the implementation of DDC and guaranty quality in network operations, all ensuring the success of DDC projects. The choice of a method based on the proven concept of agile methods as a basis, is guided by a concern for an efficient implementation of the DDC methodology, but also addressing the needs of rapid changes and corrections avoiding financial risks.

In contrast to conventional methods, "waterfall" where the result is validated in the final phase, the agile methodologies have this peculiarity, which is to consider all elements of the solution from the beginning and reach a very precise result using iterations throughout the project. In this way errors are detected sooner allowing time control of deliverables, in which, partial results are evaluated and validated with the project team and client. AGILE4COM methodology is the adaptation of the concept AGILE within the world of the DDC.
ABSTRACT
INTEGRATION
AGILE
ITIL
FINANCIALS
CONTRACTUALS
BEST
PRACTICES
3. 3. No risk anticipation
No care of customer’s requirements
Dysfunction (Quality of Service)
No budget respect
No timelines respect
Poor control of the complexity
FAILURE CAUSES
More than half of the software development projects used to fail for the mentioned causes
Quid of the DDC projects?
3
AGILE CONCEPT
4. 4. BRIEFING
STRATEGY
CONSTRUCTION
INSTALLATION
WATERFALL
OPERATIONS
EACH STEP HAS TO BE VALIDATED BEFORE THE NEXT ONE CAN START

INFLEXIBLE SPECIFICATIONS
 5. 5. NO TECHNOLOGICAL EVOLUTION
 6. 6. TESTS ONLY AT THE END OF THE PROJECT

 8. 8. WHY A METHODOLOGY
A METHODOLOGY ALLOWS
No mistakes repetition
Increase speed delivery
Budget commitments
Increase quality of service
Demonstrate profesiionalism & increase confidence
THAT IS TRANSLATED IN FINACIAL TERMS
(As an example, a 5M€ project, the Non Complinace Cost (NCC) will turn around 1.250K€)
NCC vs. METHODOLOGY COST (1.250K€ vs. 500K€)
PROJECT WITHOUT METHOD
PROJECT WITH METHOD
BUDGET
BUDGET
CONTROL
CONTROL
PROBLEMS
PROBLEMS
CLIENT
PROVIDER
CLIENT
PROVIDER
5
BUDGET INCREASE > 25%
BUDGET SAVINGS > 15%
AGILE CONCEPT
9. 9. 6
COMMUNICATION
ALL STARTS WITH COMMUNICATION
What kind of communication are we targeting? (Corporate, advertising, both)
What are the channels? (Entertainment, Promotions, Advertising, Sponsoring)
Communication profile? (loop duration, scheduling)
SOFTWARE
IS NOT ONLY CHANNEL BROADCAST IS ALSO KEY NETWORK MANAGEMENT
What is the most adequate? (SaaS, owned server, corporate, advertising)
What type of interface (none, standard (music, queue management), customized)
What is the reporting need? (Simple, customized, levels, measurements)
DDC NETWORK MODEL
HARDWARE
INCLUDES ALL – TV, PC, ROUTER, CABLING, SERVER, EXTRAS
What is requested at the client location? (TV, PC, router, cabling, server, extras)
What is the server type? (SaaS, owned, constraints)
What are the installation requests? (TV support, PC, cabling, special requests)
MANAGEMENT
IT STARTS FROM THE BASICS TOWARDS THE EXECUTIVE EXPECTATIONS
What is needed for set up services? (in vs. outsource, renting vs. investment, legal)
What is needed as management? (in vs. outsource, network & service management)
What are the KPIs? (hardware, software, channel and Business Score Cards: ROI, ROO, …)
Photos used:
"http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/images/view_photog.php?photogid=987">Image: graur razvan ionut / FreeDigitalPhotos.net
"http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/images/view_photog.php?photogid=588">Image: Giovanni Sades / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

"http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/images/view_photog.php?photogid=1152">Image: jscreationzs / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

"http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/images/view_photog.php?photogid=91">Image: FloatingLemons / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

AGILE4COM
We’ve respected the ITIL management modules adapting them to the needs of a DDC network. The various measurements, of standard and specific indicators, are displayed on the dash board that comes in the Transition phase. In many cases each month the different dashboards will be analyzed. Following this analysis, we recommend a solution that is very important to implement, each of the solutions will follow the process from the Construction stage .
DASH
BOARDS
MANAGEMENT
PROCESSES
&
SYSTEMS
OPERATIONS PROCESS
CONTRACTS
16
AGILE4COM
25. 25. Agile4com is a methodology used to facilitate deliverables fully compliant with; customer’s prerequisites, on due date and at cost, thru a communication between the players of a project and therefore improve its efficiency.
Players are generally 2 or 3 : Client, Provider & integrator. Sometimes Provider & Integrator might be the same.
The methodology is a set of processes and tools linked with deliverables identified and defined contractually between the provider/integrator and the client.
The processes and tools are used by all2com and deliverables are provided to the client in accordance with methodology statements.
HOW TO CONTRACT
CLIENT
CONSULTING CONTRACT
BRIEFINGS
DELIVERABLES
20
Terms & Conditions as well as price list are available on www.all2com.com
Photos used:
"http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/images/view_photog.php?photogid=1152">Image: jscreationzs / FreeDigitalPhotos.net
