Catholic Youth Ministry Soapbox

  1. 1. Catholic Youth Ministry Soapbox OK, here’s how this can work. Three steps: Write a one page memo regarding what it is that you want to say. Why one page? It will keep the presentation down around the land of three minutes. Build a power point on the presentation. Cover Slide- Please start with this image which I lifted from http://www.sailingscuttlebutt.com/blog/uploaded_images/500soapbox- pic-777984.jpg (Ladies, I searched for more feminine footwear atop a soapbox - -if you want to change this image, the first one who does so will set the standard for the sisterhood - - you go, girl!) Second Slide – Please identify yourself and include a picture if possible. It’s always nice to attach a face to a voice. All Slides – Hopefully you can see the advantages of more pictures and less text on this sort of thing, but keep track of where you lifted/borrowed the slides, because… Last Slide – Please give credit where credit is due, even for only a few seconds. Load it up to www.slideshare.net Record an .mp3 of you reading your one page memo (with feeling!) There is some great shareware out there that can help you edit it… like Audacity which I have used. Presently, I am using my video editing program. If you want to attach bumper music, well…. That’s just plain showing off! I used Twelve Empty Cups which was written & performed by Derek R. Audette (And I should have credited him on the first two power points!) You can find the song at http://derekaudette.ottawaarts.com/music2.php And then load it up to www.slideshare.net and edit when the slides will change. If I have lost you somewhere along the way, contact me at smiller@archbalt.org and we can make the magic happen, even to the point of recording your dulcet tones over the internet or phone. Good Luck!! Step on up on that there soapbox!
