Project Goals <ul><li>15Kw avg.-UHF-ATSC– CH38, solid state transmitter; </li></ul><ul><li>Digital system is installed into a separate room with an RF system layout into a fixed contained space; </li></ul><ul><li>AC main supply is a 480VAC source to a transmitter that is using 36 switching power supplies, each capable of about 7.7Kw; </li></ul><ul><li>Design the system for installation into a room with ceiling restrictions, minimum distance to the walls, 18”, and huge restrictions due to the air ducting system. </li></ul><ul><li>The RF Digital System, was brought into the room in 5 pieces and assembled on ESB, due to the elevator space limitations reason; </li></ul>

RF system design <ul><li>Digital system is designed to use: </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>a solid-state 15Kw avg. transmitter, </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>a Dielectric RF system built per LARCAN – Applications Engineering specifications, </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>A Coaxial Switch and a System Test Load; </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>The transmission line used is : </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>3-1/8” for the Transmitter passive output RF system; </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>3-1/8”, 3dB combiner, and a 4.77db Combiner </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>4-1/16” for the connection with the Dielectric RF system, coaxial switch, test load, and antenna </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>The key factors for design where: max avg. power, of the Transmitter, and fitting of the entire RF broadcasting equipment into the designated area. </li></ul>

Submission of the proposal <ul><li>The RF diagram showing the two modes of operation for the system: into antenna system , or into transmitter test load; </li></ul><ul><li>The material list count: lines, elbows, File Flanges (soft solder type), reducers, coaxial switch, probe sections; </li></ul><ul><li>Electrical Diagram design for the 277/480VAC service (breaker size, surge protection, voltage regulation) </li></ul><ul><li>RF Digital System built by Dielectric as per LARCAN-App. Engineering specifications; </li></ul>
