Glow Hotspots

  2. 2. Preparing Your Background Falkirk Council Education Services In Powerpoint use Word Art, Clip Art, pictures etc. To build up a template for your Glow Group page.
  3. 3. Preparing Your Link Pages Falkirk Council Education Services Save any page url’s in a Word document for easy access later.
  4. 4. Glow Hotspots – Step 1 Falkirk Council Education Services Set up a Glow Group and upload the screenshot of the powerpoint slide to a text editor web part. Now ‘Edit Content’
  5. 5. Glow Hotspots – Step 2 Falkirk Council Education Services Right click on the image and select the ‘ImageMapDialog’ option. Now click on the ‘Create Area’ icon as shown.
  6. 6. Glow Hotspots – Step 3 The ‘Hotspot’ will appear. Choose the ‘Rectangle’ or ‘Circle’ option.
  7. 7. Glow Hotspots – Step 4 Drag the ‘Hotspot’ over the first icon you want to link from. Copy and paste the url from the Word document prepared earlier. Select the ‘New Window’ option if desired.
  8. 8. Glow Hotspots – Step 5 Continue linking from the other ‘Hotspots’ in the same way, then click on the ‘update’ icon.
  9. 9. Glow Hotspots – Step 6 You might want to remove the ‘Text Editor’ frame . To do this, click on the ‘Frame Style’ menu and choose ‘None’
  10. 10. Glow Hotspots – The Result In your new Glow group, clicking on one of the picture icons will open a link in a new window. The link can be within Glow, or an ‘outward facing’ website.
