Conclusions about the food habits survey <ul><li>Research conducted among the students suggests that they usually have for breakfast: </li></ul><ul><li>milk and coffee, tea, fruit juice, yoghurt, </li></ul><ul><li>cereals, pre-packed snacks, biscuits, bread with ham or cheese, bread with marmalade or chocolate, pizza or focaccia . </li></ul>
  26. 26. <ul><li>Only few students tend to miss breakfast even if studies show that breakfast plays an important role in providing needed energy and nutrients after an overnight fast and can aid in concentration and performance at school . </li></ul>
  27. 27. <ul><li>Mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks generally form an integral part of meal patterns since they can help to meet energy needs throughout the day. Products classified in the “extra foods” group such as soft drinks, chocolate, sweets, chewing gums and nuts are often eaten during the day. </li></ul>
  28. 28. <ul><li>The majority feels more hungry before lunch, which is usually eaten at home. Surveys have found that pasta, bread, meat, cheese, ham, vegetables and fresh fruit are consumed at least once a day . The consumption of fish and eggs generally takes place once a week while potatoes and pulses are eaten sometimes. </li></ul>
  29. 29. <ul><li>In conclusion , teenagers are particularly concerned about their body image and some of them have already been on a diet since excessive weight can have profound effects on their emotional well being as well as on their physical health . Nevertheless, the majority is physically inactive and only four out of twenty play a sport . </li></ul>
