Dyer speaks about how to reach all audiences and fanbases, the
star must be like the audiences and normal to a certain degree.
Although this is fact, Dyer says that the star must also have
something different about them to separate them from the
audience, making them idealistic versions of humanity.
4. Paradox 2
“The star must be both present and absent”
Dyer speaks about how the star must be present as a member of
society in the eyes of the audience; for instance being seen out
shopping. Although the star must be present, they must also be
out-of-reach and on a pedestal, somewhat above the normal
member of society.
