Introduction <ul><li>Sheffield is in South Yorkshire, where the famous York shire puddings come from. </li></ul><ul><li>Our school is situated in South West near the peak district, where all the climbers go, and you can go for long walks. </li></ul>Sheffield map Click picture to go back to the contents.
  4. 4. Our first school trip! <ul><li>Our first school trip was ‘European Day’ in the centre of Town in Sheffield. We took lots of pictures around town. Some facts about our school <ul><li>In our school we have had Nick Clegg, the Deputy Prime Minister, and sometimes he comes and to see our new councillors. </li></ul><ul><li>History of the School </li></ul><ul><li>The school was built in 1956 and children were moved from the original site which now houses the St Wilfrid’s Centre at Healey. It serves the parishes of Mother of God and St William of York and we have close links with both our parishes. </li></ul><ul><li>The school has its own woodland, playing fields and pond area. These are used to support teaching and learning in a variety of curriculum areas. The school also has a Quiet Garden where we have opportunities for reflection and prayer. </li></ul><ul><li>Our head teacher is Mrs.Jarret. </li></ul>Click picture to go back to contents
  12. 12. Our school council <ul><li>At beginning of the school year, children from each Key Stage 2 class vote for two school council representatives. We have been very lucky to have Nick Clegg assist us in this exciting event. We work together to make decisions on many important matters, from school issues, to ideas for charity fundraising and to ensuring everyone is happy and enjoying school life. We have particularly enjoyed visiting the Town Hall, where we have the opportunity to debate with children from different schools. </li></ul><ul><li>Our class school conciliates are Jed and Molly! </li></ul>
