USPS® Forced Meter Migration - How to Know if Your Postage Meter Will Soon be...
Second draft
1. This article is going to talk about a few different sport athletes and teams and
their vegan stories. Most of the people became vegan and it changed their lives.
In some cases it was the difference between being a great athlete in their sports
or being someone how is just another athlete.
Mike Tyson is the first person I will be talking about. Mike is a retired boxer who
became a vegan, which ended up saving his life. Mike Tyson after retiring from
boxing went down a dark path drinking lots of alcohol and taking drugs, which is
the reason he was put into rehab. Due to taking the drugs he nearly ended up
dying but because he became vegan it saved his life. But he decided to become
vegan who is something that his wife also decided to do and then Mike followed
along. He also wanted to clean up his life and become fit and healthy again so this
led to the decision of him becoming vegan. Mike Tyson became fit again and
became healthier than he was when he was boxing. He decided after four years
to stop but keeps to a regular schedule on a morning to stay healthy but if it
weren’t for him becoming vegan he may have died and people would have
remembered a drug addict and not a great boxer that he was.
Another athlete that is vegan is UFC star Nate Diaz. Him and his brother is both
vegan and have been since 18 years old. Becoming vegan was the best decision
for Nate as he believes it made him a better fighter and it showed when he
defeated a top fighter after only having 11 days to prepare for the fight. Nate
believes becoming vegan made him faster and a smarter fighter. He also believes
that you can be on a plant-based diet like him and still be successful. It is a
harder lifestyle to be a vegan and a fighter but as Nate shows it is possible and he
shows that you can be successful in anything and that being vegan shouldn’t stop
you. Nate has added himself to a growing list of fighters that are becoming vegan,
the first person who became vegan in UFC was Mac Danzig in 2000 and since
then more fighters have followed in his footsteps, it is not only the male fighters
as even the female fighters are also becoming vegan.
Another sport star how is vegan is David Carter who is a NFL player how has to
be 300 pounds to be able to play the position that he plays. David Carter was
having problems with his fingers as they were numb and also had tendonitis and
it got so bad that he struggled to get out of the bath by himself. He became vegan
thanks to a documentary that he watched, he learned from this that eating a non-
vegan diet was causing his tendonitis. So the day after this documentary he
decided to become vegan. In the first two weeks of this he had already lost 40
pounds, but because of his position this was a bad thing although he felt great
because he was faster and stronger. The pain he was suffering in his fingers had
gone as well as the tendonitis. But he had to put weight on to be able to play so
he decided to eat more food than what he use to. He has to eat every two hours
to keep the weight he desires. Every day he eats 1.2 grams of protein a day to
keep his weight if he doesn’t eat this much protein he will start losing weigh. But
Carter like showing that there is more to vegans than just celery sticks and he
like being able to show that even though he is 300 pounds that he still eats
healthier which surprises many people as most people how are vegan are very
health people. If he hadn’t become vegan his pain would of increased and would
of been hard for him to stay in the NFL but because he did it made a better player
2. than he was before and changed all of his problems. So had no more tendonitis
and has not got to worry about.
Forest Green Rovers is a football club in the National League. They are the first
team in football to become a vegan only club. The club became a vegan club
because of the chairman he himself is a vegan and wanted to make his club
healthier. They got rid of burgers of the menu back in 2011 and finally made the
small step to becoming a vegan only club according to the chairman. The
chairman changed the club due to another reason as well which was of a report
that was released by the world health organisation. This report stated that meat
could cause cancer, so the chairman decided to make the club vegan for the
health reasons, as he didn’t want any of the players or fans to get cancer due to
eating burgers at the club. The club have also started to help the environment by
getting solar panels on the roof of the stadium and making the pitch have organic
grass. Forest Green is making a technology centre which will allow people to find
out more about veganism. It will hold weddings and will be available to schools
for trips to the facility. Forest Green are hoping that a bigger club comes along
and copies this idea, this is because they are a small team and it would not catch
on with other bigger clubs as they are not a very well none team, but if a big club
decided to do this it would allow other teams to do it as well and more clubs
could become vegan.
Different sport players have different vegan stories, going from making them a
better athlete to changing their lives. If some of these people didn’t go vegan
there lives wouldn’t be like they are know Mike Tyson may have died to drugs,
Nate Diaz may not be a top fighter in UFC, David Carter would still be in lots of
pain and may not be in the NFL anymore and forest green would not of been the
first vegan team and burgers would of still be on the menu even if it could lea to
cancer. So the change to the diet makes al the different for these people. Would it
make a difference for you?
