Reaching for CloudsIn this image the photo of the model (herself)was taken in an open field on an overcast dayand the sky is a separate shot. Like a lot of herimages there is not real distinguishablebackground, just the clouds and a bit of ground.Visual:There is a kind of nightmarish feeling within thisimage. It’s as if the clouds are trying to sallowher up like some kind of monster.Technical:There are three parts to this image. The model, the clouds and the part around her head andstomach. The image has been darkened andblue/green tones have been added as well as atexture over the whole image.http://shadenproductions.com/blog/2012/08/05/reaching-for-clouds-photo-story/
Thorns That Flowers GrowAgain this is a three part image, the model onlocation, the sky, and the flower.Visual:This is a very striking image, it’s very much animage that you take a second look at and realisethat the flower is coming from the head of aperson. Like with all of her work it has a verymoody feel to it.Technical:The flower would have been taken on a whitebackground and cut out and placed and blendedover the models head and face. The sky has been darkened to add drama to theimage. The whole images has been darkened, tonalchanges and a texture place over the top ofeverything.
The Leaves of Linden AvenueI find this image downright striking. There are so manydifferent elements within this image that you can’t help lookdeeper and deeper within it.Visual:This image is so intriguing, there are so many elements. Thesky, the landscape, the model and all those leaves. Eachelement seems so disconnected for one another but alsowork well together.Technical:Each leaf started out as one of 50 scanned leaves, that havebeen cut out, duplicating them and changing each oneslightly to create hundreds and hundreds of leaves to makethe dress. The sky has been enhanced to make it look moredramatic.http://shadenproductions.com/blog/2012/03/14/3411/
