Types of graphs

 1. 1. Graphs and Tables

During this unit you will learn about 4 types of Graphs:

Bar graph

Line graph

Circle (Pie) graph

Pictograph

You will learn about 2 types of Tables:

Frequency Table

Line Plot

 2. 2. Frequency Table

Data – information

Frequency Table – lists the number of times each item occurs in a data set.

 3. 3. Line Plot

Uses X marks to show Frequencies

 4. 4. Bar Graph

A bar graph uses the lengths of bars to represent data.

Bar graphs are used to compare data.

 5. 5. Line Graph

A line graph uses points connected by a line to represent data.

A line graph is used to show changes over time.

 6. 6. Circle Graph

A circle graph represents data as part of circle.

A circle graph is used to compare parts of data to the whole data.

 7. 7. Pictograph

A pictograph uses pictures to represent data.

It is similar to a bar graph because it compares data.
