Presearch Search Term Mapping Steps Fall 2015 9th Honors English

Search Term Mapping Fall 2015  Keep a running list of search terms and phrases you are trying as you search databases, websites, and/or video portals (YouTube, Vimeo)  For each source, jot down and map the key words/concepts/phrases you are finding as you skim and scan articles from that database, website, or video portal. DO NOT TAKE NOTES.  This process helps us to be more mindful of building the language or vocabulary of our topic and to possibly refine/narrow/focus our topic.  The mapping process helps us to get more robust results and to “mine” our topic more thoughtfully as we search.  The mapping process allows to jot down key ideas/concepts that can not only help our search process but can also identify points of interest to revisit and search more deeply once we narrow our topic focus.
