Getting Started <ul><li>Go to and register for a free account. </li></ul><ul><li>Once you have created your account, log into your new account (be sure to record your username and password info!). </li></ul><ul><li>Hint: You will actually have to click on the “login” button; “enter” does not work at this service.  </li></ul>
  3. 3. Creating a Poll <ul><li>From the “Account Home” page, press the “New Poll” Button. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Creating Your Poll <ul><li>You will first need to enter a poll question. </li></ul><ul><li>Next, type in possible answer responses. </li></ul><ul><li>Click the “+” button to add additional answer choices; click the “-” button to take away answer choices or extra answer boxes. </li></ul>

Other Poll Options/Choices <ul><li>You can set a close date to the poll if you like (see far right of menu). </li></ul><ul><li>You can use the “ Comments ” menu options on the far right side of the screen to make comments choices; you can choose to: A. Allow comments B. Moderate comments first C. No comments </li></ul>

Additional Poll Choices <ul><li>Choose a default language for your poll. </li></ul><ul><li>Choose a poll design . </li></ul><ul><li>Make “ poll results ” choice. </li></ul><ul><li>Click “save and continue” in the lower right hand corner when you have made all your poll choices. This is green button. </li></ul>
  8. 9. Poll HTML Code Screen/Menu <ul><li>Once you have saved and continued, you will arrive at the Poll HTML menu page. </li></ul><ul><li>Look to the right side of the screen. </li></ul><ul><li>Click on the link that says WordPress Blogs. </li></ul>

  10. 11. Get the Word Press HTML Code <ul><li>Copy and paste the text you see. </li></ul>
  11. 12. Next Steps: <ul><li>Log in to your Word Press blog. </li></ul><ul><li>From your dashboard, choose “Write”; it will default to your writing a post. </li></ul><ul><li>Give your post a title. You may go ahead and add tags and choose (or create) a category for your post. </li></ul>
  12. 13. Final Steps <ul><li>Normally, we work in the “Visual” view when we are writing a post. However, to embed the poll code, you need to click on “HMTL.” </li></ul>
  13. 14. Icing on the Cake! <ul><li>Now paste in the code you copied from Poll Daddy. Click “Publish” to publish your post and poll. </li></ul>

  15. 16. Final Hints <ul><li>You can edit your poll at any time. Simply log back into your Poll Daddy account. </li></ul><ul><li>Click on the “polls” menu near the top of the page. </li></ul><ul><li>Choose “list polls” from the dropdown menu. </li></ul><ul><li>Click on “options” next to the poll you want to modify. </li></ul><ul><li>Click on “Poll Options” from the next menu. </li></ul><ul><li>Make your changes. </li></ul><ul><li>Click “Save and Continue.” </li></ul><ul><li>You DO NOT have to put the code into your Word Press Post again. The changes automatically update.  </li></ul>
