  2. 2. Habitat <ul><li>Box Jellyfish live in Northern Australia and parts of New Guinea. </li></ul><ul><li>They live either deep in the ocean or near coral reef. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Hunting/ Avoidance behavior <ul><li>The Box jellyfish is a very skilled hunter. They have the capabilities of openly hunting their prey. They have 24 eyes to help them hunt. Only 16 of them can detect light, but they are skilled hunters nonetheless. </li></ul>

  5. 5. Conservation status <ul><li>The conservation status of the box jellyfish is unknown, but it is likely to be in the millions. We do not know the conservation status because we rarely come into contact with them. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Food Sources <ul><li>The Box jellyfish commonly feed on small fish and zooplankton as shown: </li></ul>
  7. 7. Reproduction <ul><li>Jelly fish do not reproduce like other animals do. </li></ul><ul><li>The male lets out the sperm into the ocean and they float towards the female. They attach to her tentacles and then flow upwards to fertilize the eggs. </li></ul><ul><li>They then hatch and are larvae. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Ecological role <ul><li>The Box jellyfish are the predators in their society, feeding on small fish and plankton. </li></ul><ul><li>Not many things attack the Box jellyfish because of their venom. </li></ul>
