  2. 2. Personal Learning Environment (PLE) A system that helps a learner take control of and manage their own learning.
  3. 3. Personal Learning Network (PLN) The group of other individuals that you share ideas, information and resources related to your profession or a specific topic.
  4. 4. Gather Resources  Use your PLN to help you review and filter resources. ▫ Twitter ▫ Social-Networks  Linked-in  Facebook  Ning ▫ Forums ▫ Blogs ▫ Websites ▫ Online/ Virtual Events
  5. 5.  Visit Learning Center  Profile/ Resume  Skills  Groups  Connections (grow your PLN)  Ask Question, Get Answers/ Give Answers
  6. 6.  Professional Fan Pages  Event Invites Many Professional Groups, Companies and Experts have FB Fan Pages! Facebook Pages Directory
  7. 7.  Join professional social networks
  8. 8. Forums  Online discussion forums are a great place to get questions answered, discover resources and network with new people. ▫ Just about any online software or service you use will have a forum. ▫ Many of the social networks include a discussion forum, utilize them.
  9. 9. Blogs  Many Experts, Authors, Companies, Organizations and the list goes on and on… ▫ Great place to get up-to-date information, how-to, what is new, what is good, reviews, resources Find other great expert blogs by looking at the “blog roll” of the blogs you already read.
  10. 10. Online/ Virtual Events  There are always free virtual events and webinars going on.
  11. 11. Organize  RSS is the key to organizing your resources. ▫ Social Bookmarking  Delicious, Diigo, Stumbleupon, Edtags ▫ Customizable web pages  iGoogle, Netvibes ▫ Online Note-Taking  Evernote, Google Docs
  12. 12.  Create an account  Bookmark sites  Organize them by tags and bundles  Share tags, bundles or a single bookmark with others
